My Philosophy of Care

My goal as a hospital medicine physician is to work with you and your family during an acute illness to achieve the best possible outcome. I help coordinate the care the nurses, therapists, social workers, consultants and additional staff provide for you. I try to educate my patients as much as possible about their illness - both to reduce the chance you may need to be hospitalized in the future and to lessen the anxiety and stress that are often present during such a difficult time.

About Me

I am a Bay Area native and attended UC Berkeley for college. I proceeded to Columbia University for medical school and graduated in 2002. I returned to the area for residency at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. I have been a hospital physician with Kaiser since 2006. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

My Credentials

Medical school Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, NY
Residency Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
