Welcome to my home page and to the Department of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. On this web site you can find useful links to information about common lung diseases and about procedures that are performed in the Pulmonary Clinic and the Intensive Care unit.

I spend part of my time in the clinic seeing people with lung, chest, and sleep disorders, and the other part of my time caring for patients in the Critical Care Unit. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1988 and have always felt that we provide excellent care to our members. We now have a state-of-the-art electronic medical record system that allows for even better and more timely care. I have instant access to all of your medical record, including test results and x-rays. I can show you your x-rays in the clinic as soon as you have them done. I feel very fortunate to work in a facility that provides such great care.

About Me

I was born and raised in San Francisco. My undergraduate education was at Stanford University. I attended medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia. I did my Internal Medicine training at the University of California in Los Angeles and my Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at University of California in San Francisco.

The other Dr. Stumpf at Kaiser is my husband. In our spare time we enjoy being with our two daughters and playing bridge.

I wish you good breathing, good sleeping, and good health.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
