I chose to practice Hospital Based Medicine because of the opportunity to help and care for patients who are acutely or critically ill. It is in this setting that I find the reward of being able to make a difference in patient lives. I also chose to work at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center because of the diversity in its patient population. I look forward to the interactions with not only my patients, but their families and support system as well.

Background

I have lived in the Bay Area most of my life. I received my undergraduate degree at U.C. Berkeley where I majored in Molecular and Cell Biology and minored in Ethnic Studies. Then I received my medical degree at U.C. Davis School of Medicine. I completed my residency training in Internal Medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

Recommendations

A balanced lifestyle is the key to a healthy lifestyle. Along with work, leisure time and exercise are important aspects of our daily activities. In this busy world, we sometimes forget to make room to think about “ourselves.” Devote some time for yourself to relieve stress: reflect, meditate, pray, exercise (i.e. swim, jog, run). More importantly, make time to see your primary care physician annually.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
