Welcome to My Internet Home Page

Welcome to the Department of Physical Therapy of Kaiser Permanente! Our department works closely with other health care providers to provide quality health care to promote and maintain physical wellness of our members and the communities.

About Me

I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from University of California, Davis in 2001. I then earned my Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from University of Southern California in 2004. I am licensed by the Physical Therapy Board of California as a Physical Therapist in the same year.

I joined Kaiser Permanente since 2004. It is my pleasure to work in Kaiser Permanente. This health system emphasizes on wellness, which is exactly the mission of Physical Therapy (you will learn more about the mission as you read along…stay tuned…).

I was born and raised in Hong Kong, China. Apart from English, I speak fluent Cantonese. I came to the United States with my parents and my sister in 1997. We settled down in Sacramento and we definitely enjoy the “green” in the city, as Sacramento is the city of trees! I like playing tennis, hiking and walking. Shopping is another enjoyable activity for me. I also like making road trips to explore different cities with my family and friends. Being a Physical Therapist was my goal since high school in Hong Kong. The unique nature of this profession is that people do not depend on external medicine to complete their recovery, but it is through physical techniques and exercise to restore physical functions.

Philosophy of Care

I strongly believe the patient-centered approach in treating my patients. The majority of patients that I encountered experienced orthopedic or neurological injuries. No matter what diagnosis patients may have, I will spend time discussing what they would like to be accomplished and utilize manual techniques and exercise plan to assist them in achieving their individual goals. This also reflects that the patients themselves are active participants in the rehabilitative process. What is Physical Therapy? I consider physical therapists as specialists for diagnosing and managing people who have movement dysfunction. Our role is to restore optimal physical function due to disease processes or disorders, and to work together with the patients to maintain continued wellness and promote optimal quality of life as it relates to movement and health.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
