About Me
I am a full-time intensivist at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo, California. Intensivists are subspecialists in the field of critical care medicine. Patients who have life-threatening illnesses are admitted to the intensive care unit, where intensivists direct their care. In our intensive care unit, a multi-professional team cares for critically ill patients. The members of this team include intensivists, critical care nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, social workers, registered dietitians, physical therapists, and frequently, physicians from other specialties.
I chose a career in medicine because my interest in the sciences would benefit people’s health. During my medical training, I gravitated toward critical care medicine, where exciting advancements had led to improved outcomes for critically ill patients. Moreover, in this specialty, I realized the privilege of participating in the care of patients and their families at extremely sensitive times in their lives. My partners and I take pride in providing the most up-to-date, timely, and compassionate care to our patients and their families. Kaiser Permanente provides us with the resources we need to achieve these goals.
Away from work, my life consists mostly of my wife and me trying to keep up with our two toddlers and cherishing their every step. I exercise and garden to relax, and enjoy leisurely outings with my family and friends.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
