Although talking about myself takes away valuable opportunity I could spend getting to know my patients, I think you should know that I was born on the highest and, hence, coldest elevation in Nigeria: the Jos Plateau. Because the place of my birth is very cold, I attempt to warm up the hearts of my patients with good laughter.

I came to America in 1983 and attended undergraduate and medical trainings at Oregon State University and Oregon Health and Sciences University with degrees in pharmacy and medicine respectively. I completed my residency with University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in 1995 and lived in Fresno until 2005 when I joined Kaiser Permanente.

My Patient Care Philosophy

My motto is “Do unto others as you’d want them to do unto you.” With this philosophy, I put myself in the position of each of my patients and treat them as I would want to be treated. I listen to them and make sure that I understand what their expectations are of the health care they are getting. Because I have lots of interests, I always find something in common with my patients beside medicine to talk about. Most patients like to know that physicians are human beings too and that we share with them the trials and tribulations of life. Easing patients through the anxieties, fears, and mistrusts of being in a vulnerable ill condition is a fundamental initial step in providing care and if we, as physicians, do a good job at this, half the battle of medical delivery is won.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
