Joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group: 2007

My Biography

I joined the Department of Anesthesia at Kaiser South San Francisco in

2007. My work incorporates two major disciplines- interventional pain management and anesthesia care.

After finishing my fellowship training in pain management, I took a staff physician position at San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC). Apart from directing the pain management service at SFVAMC, I was also assistant professor of anesthesia at University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Working in a teaching institution allowed me to gain hands-on experience in the field of anesthesia and pain medicine.

After SFVAMC, I made an important move to become a part of the Kaiser family. I am proud and glad to be working at Kaiser SSF which provides high-quality medical care to our members. Despite the fact that my major role in pain management here is interventional (nerve blocks, etc.), I am a firm believer in multidisciplinary approach for chronic pain. Most patients with chronic pain can benefit tremendously from multidisciplinary treatment which is offered by the chronic pain clinic at our facility. If you have chronic pain problems, I would urge you to discuss this option with your primary care physician.

On the personal side, I was born and raised in Thailand. Besides English, I can also speak Thai and Mandarin. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and little daughter. We like to take a walk in the park. We love traveling, eating, trying different recipes and watching movies together. Thank you for visiting my homepage.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
