Welcome to my Home Page!

I am originally from the East Bay, and I did my undergraduate training at UC Davis. After graduating from UC Davis in 1998, I received my medical degree from LSU New Orleans. I subsequently completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Yale. After completing my training in 2005, I decided to return to the Bay Area and practice as a Hospital Based Specialist at Kaiser Redwood City.

Early in my medical school training, I was drawn towards Internal Medicine. Not only did I find the subject matter of internal medicine very interesting, but more importantly, I greatly valued and enjoyed the relationships between myself and my patients that I encountered. Being a hospital based specialist allows me the opportunity to learn about various aspects of my patients’ lives while treating them in the acute setting. I find it very satisfying to acutely diagnose and treat patients, as well as to follow their course of care during their hospitalization.

I have a particular interest in the quality assurance aspect of medicine, and I am very excited about being involved with a health care organization such as Kaiser Permanente. It is a true role model for other health maintenance organizations, as it is always improving itself in order to provide better health care to members. It is exciting to be a part of organization that provides excellent health care, and to work alongside individuals who are as passionate as I am about treating patients.

Some of my personal interests include playing tennis, running, and hiking. My wife and I recently had our first child which has been a life changing and wonderful event. As you can imagine, most of our free time is spent enjoying the company of our new bundle of joy.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
