Welcome to My Home Page!

About me

I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, and attended Saint Mary's College in Moraga on a baseball scholarship. I met my wife in college and was married soon after graduation. We moved to Omaha, Nebraska, for medical school at Creighton University and four years later moved to San Antonio, Texas, for residency training. Along the way we have been blessed with four beautiful children and we're excited for the opportunity to return to the Bay Area to be close to family.

I chose anesthesiology after rotating through the specialty as a medical student and learning how much I enjoyed the blend of patient care and the direct application of pharmacology and physiology in that care. In addition, I have come to appreciate what a great gift it is to be able to focus on taking care of one patient at a time.

I am pleased to be a part of Kaiser Permanente which offers state of the art care in a collegial and team oriented environment. I think you will find, as I have, that everyone here in the Anesthesiology Department is committed to alleviating your fears in what is often a stessful time.

My Credentials

Medical school Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, NE
Residency University of Texas Health Science Center At San Antonio, School of Medicine, San Antonio, TX
Board certification Anesthesiology, American Board of Anesthesiology

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
