About Me

I was born in India and at the age of seven my family moved to Newark, NJ and finally to Tracy, California where I grew up.

I completed my undergraduate degree at UC Davis and my Medical Degree at Loyola University in Chicago. I completed my internship at Highland Hospital in Oakland and then went into Family Practice residency and practiced for 2 1/2 years in my hometown of Tracy, California.

I realized my true calling was in Anesthesia and with my family's blessing started an Anesthesia Residency at USC County Medical Center. At USC I learned to take care of a wide variety of patients with significant medical problems. Practicing Anesthesia gives me the opportunity to apply physiology and pharmacology - two of my favorite courses in medical school. It also allows me to take care of both adults and children going through a very critical time in their life. My Family Practice background provides me with an empathetic quality for a very personalized care.

I chose Santa Clara Kaiser because it is the regional referral center for high risk OB/GYN, Pediatrics, and Thoracic Surgery. My interests include Regional Anesthesia and management of difficult Airway conditions. I believe in Kaiser's philosophy toward patient care and its organized delivery system. The integrated model allows me to practice Anesthesia in close coordination with other medical specialties to provide a high level of care for patients. It allows my colleagues and me to thrive professionally without regard to financial gain.

I live in Cupertino with my wife and our three children. My greatest pleasure is spending time with my family and biking.

If you or your family members are scheduled for surgery-requiring anesthesia please click on the "Links" button to see my list of web sites.

My colleagues and I would be very willing to discuss questions and allay fears about Anesthesia. We also offer a Heal Faster program for patients who are apprehensive about their surgery. This program has allowed patients to recover faster and use less pain medication.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
