My Practice Philosophy

I became an anesthesiologist in part because the day of surgery is one of the most important days in a patient’s life. The job begins way before the patient arrives in the operating room. Helping the patient overcome the anxiety that is normal prior to surgery is a big part of our mission to provide good care. Helping patients to understand the anesthetic process as well as addressing their concerns is at least as helpful as a good dose of sedation. A patient should never have surgery with a question about it lingering in their mind.

My Credentials

Medical school UC San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
Internship Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Santa Clara, CA
Residency Stanford University, Stanford, CA
Fellowship Stanford University Hospital, Stanford, CA
Board certification Anesthesiology, American Board of Anesthesiology

My Extracurricular Activities

When not at the hospital, I enjoy jogging and reading, however, in the past 2 ½ years since the birth of my two children, I haven’t had much time for either activity.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
