My Practice Philosophy

My approach is working closely with individuals and families to empower them with tools to identify and draw upon their own and unique internal strengths to overcome life’s obstacles. I believe you are the best expert in recognizing and supporting your child’s emotional needs. My goal is to develop a collaborative relationship with you in order to provide the appropriate support and resources to strengthen your expertise as the parent. In my practice, I integrate family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness and reflective practice to address the distinctive needs of each individual family.

About Me

Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, I worked for over five years as a bilingual (Spanish) clinician at Santa Clara Health and Hospital System’s Mental Health Department, Family Children Division. During this time I had the opportunity to provide outpatient psychotherapy to children with emotional, social and behavioral challenges. Over the years I have worked with children of varying ages.

My Interests

On personal note, in order to maintain a well balanced life, on my free time I enjoy making jewelry, doing yoga and spending time with my family. I also enjoy traveling both local and abroad.

My Credentials

I earned my Bachelor Degree with a double major in Psychology and Behavioral Science at San Jose State University. In 2006, I received a Master’s Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Mental Health at San Jose State University. I am now a licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California through the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
