Welcome to My Home Page!

Welcome to my web page. I began my career in chemical dependency at an Oakland, California residential treatment center that specialized in adolescent and family recovery from drug and alcohol dependency. While in graduate school, I worked in academic and outpatient settings that offered treatment to a wide variety of clients.

Having specialized in the treatment of adolescents, and families & adults suffering from the effects of chemical dependency, I have had the honor to be involved with many courageous individuals who sought to change their lives. I am fortunate to work in various specialties at the Walnut Creek clinic: I work with adolescents and their families in the Adolescent Chemical Dependency Program, with codependents and those in recovery from addictive substances and behaviors in the Adult Chemical Dependency Program, and I am on the permanent on-call team that serves the Emergency Department at the Walnut Creek Hospital.

I work with a dedicated team of providers who strive for compassionate patient treatment. I consider it to be a privilege to be a Kaiser Permanente psychologist. Perhaps I am lucky enough to be one of those rare people who actually looks forward to going to work.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
