My Biography

Undergraduate Education: Bachelor of Arts in English, University of California, Irvine
Medical School and Graduate Education: University of California, San Francisco/San Francisco State University MPT
Certifications: Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) since 2002
Began Practice: 1993
Joined Kaiser: 1994

I received a Master in Physical Therapy degree from the UCSF/ San Francisco State University Graduate Program in Physical Therapy in 1993. I have worked for Kaiser Permanente since 1994 in Redwood City, San Francisco, and South San Francisco in a variety of settings, including home health, general inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, and Adult Primary Care. I have done rehabilitation on many different patient populations, including those with orthopedic injuries, neurologic problems such as stroke, cardiac problems, and lymphedema. I have worked exclusively as a hand and upper extremity therapist since 2001, and have been a Certified Hand Therapist since 2002.

I enjoy working at Kaiser South San Francisco because of the excellence of the staff, as well as its friendly, community atmosphere. I especially enjoy working in the Orthopedic Department, where I am in close proximity with the orthopedic surgeons and other staff for consultation, which I feel enhances the quality of patient care.

Outside of work, I enjoy taking classes in environmental science and restoration, backpacking, jogging, ceramics, reading, gardening, and drawing and painting.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
