My Biography

Thank you for visiting my web page. I hope that you find this information and the web links helpful.

As an early adolescent, I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by my wonderful grandfather. He was a kind and gentle man who always took the time to listen to his patients. His love of learning was contagious and had a profound impact upon me.

I grew up on the East Coast and studied and worked in Germany for three summers. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Brown University in Rhode Island, my medical degree from Yale University, and then completed a residency at New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center. I completed my fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco.

I began my professional career in 1991 at California Pacific Medical Center, and then moved on to a faculty position at Stanford University Medical Center. After the birth of my second child, I joined Kaiser Permanente, where I have been in practice since 1996. I specialize in high-risk obstetrics, prenatal diagnosis, and ultrasound. I love working at Kaiser Permanente because we provide superb care. I work along side other great professionals, including Dr. Robin Field and Candace Foote, RN who also work in our office caring for high risk pregnancies.

When I am not at work I am busy enjoying my family or volunteering at my children’s school. Our family loves to take advantage of all the city has to offer and to spend time in the outdoors camping, rafting or in the snow. I love the diversity and beauty of San Francisco and the greater Bay area.

Undergraduate Education: BA, Brown University

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
