About Me

I was born in China and immigrated to America when I was 11 years old. I grew up in San Francisco and moved to Berkeley in 1980. I am bi-cultural and bi-lingual, speaking Cantonese, Mandarin and Toysanese.

I have been with Kaiser Permanente’s Oakland Medical Center since 1983. I primarily work with families with children and adolescents. Although I work with families presenting with a range of psychological stresses, my primary specialty is in the evaluation and treatment of ADHD. I chair the Kaiser Permanente Northern Region’s ADHD Best Practices. I also have an extensive program working with parents to develop effective parenting strategies. My commitment is to empower parents to be more effective with their children and teens.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, playing music, good food, friends, and time with family.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
