Introduction

While I was working as an ICU RN I developed an interest in anesthesia and critical care. I was fortunate to work with some of the greatest transplant surgeons at USC University Hospital and always wanted to know what was going on at the initial state of the transplant, how to stabilize the patient during the transplant surgery and other aspects of handling the patient during their critical care state. My decision to go into the Nurse Anesthesia Program became definite after I “shadowed” one of the CRNA’s in my hospital. It was a love at first sight. So now I am working at Kaiser Permanente San Jose doing what I love.

Background

I finished Moscow Medical Academy Nursing School in 1992 and have a psychology degree from Moscow University. I graduated from the USC Nurse Anesthesia Program in 2006 with a Master in Science.

Personal Interest

Love to travel, recently started playing tennis, enjoy reading.

Recommendation

From an anesthesia prospective and health care in general to have a healthy lifestyle is a key. The majority of potential complications can be prevented by losing weight, quitting smoking, exercising regularly and be compliant with medication regimen.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
