Welcome to My Home Page!

I have always enjoyed helping and interacting with people by educating them, working with them, or comforting them. In school, my favorite courses were Human Anatomy and Physiology as well as Philosophy and Literature. I always loved the seemingly endless opportunity that the medical profession offered. I also love that no one choice is set in stone. There are many ways to practice, to change health care policy, to be involved in education and be involved in the community. I hope that medicine continues to be a field where such flexibility and opportunity are available.

Kaiser Permanente provides me the tools and assistance I need to be a good patient advocate in the form of patient care coordinators, educational classes for patients, and much more. This allows me to spend most of my time listening to my patients, one of the most important things any physician can do. Patient care is constantly evolving and becoming more complex in our current health system. A multi and interdisciplinary approach where everyone, including patients, can have input and work together to deliver patient-centered care is paramount. Also, there are many options out there regarding medical treatment, and not all are always appropriate or even wanted. I feel my role is to listen, present options that are in the patient's best interests and wishes, and to provide comfort.

My philosophy for life is to enjoy what you do, whether it is work or play. I enjoy being a physician, but when I am not in the hospital I love to read, ski, play tennis, listen to music, and explore with my friends and family.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
