After graduating from California State University, Fresno, in 1987, I spent 6 years working in private practice settings around Sacramento. In 1993, I started a year- long residency program that emphasized manual physical therapy at Kaiser Permanente in Hayward. This program exposed me to a hands-on approach that accelerated my own experiences and clinical decision-making process. Another significant result of this program is that it introduced me to the Kaiser system and allowed me to treat and practice in an effective manner. This led me to join the South Sacramento Kaiser family the following year.

Over my career, I have enjoyed working with a variety of problems including neck and back conditions, orthopedic injuries, chronic conditions and fibromyalgia. I also instruct exercise classes including the post-op knee class, advanced back training, fibromyalgia exercise class, and a low level exercise class.

As the clinical education coordinator at South Sacramento, I help organize an internship program for new graduates. It is very exciting to watch them implement what they have previously learned in school. Our clinic takes pride in exposing these new graduates to the multiple components of evaluating and treating Kaiser members.

When not enjoying work, I spend my time swimming. I currently help organize the Sacramento Masters Swim Team that has 150 participants from all over the greater Sacramento area along with coaching the team several times each week. We regularly attend local, regional and national swim meets as well as putting on our own swim meet in October. It is a great way to stay in shape, eat almost as much as I want and have fun at the same time.

Thank you for visiting my home page. When you have time, take a look at some of the links in the navigation bar to the left for some helpful information regarding my profession, personal interests and a selection of treatment ideas for common physical therapy related problems.
