My Practice Philosophy

As a pediatric pulmonologist, my job is to assist you and your primary care physician to help your child live and breathe better. Your primary care physician is still your main contact medical care-giver and I see myself as an assistant to both of you.

My job is to help clarify your child’s problems and to help make sure the condition is under good control. Each doctor has unique practice styles. I see my role as a helper to you. Some of the things I can do are:

  • help make sure we are not missing anything.
  • help find out what is the cause of your child’s problems.
  • help find a plan of action that will keep your child healthy.
  • help avoid overmedicating your child.

I can also help you understand how medication, lab tests, clinic visits, etc., can and cannot help you. Ultimately, I wish to partner with you to make sure you have all the tools you need to live and to breathe easier—to thrive.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
