Hello and welcome to my homepage!

Here I hope to give you a little insight about who I am as a person and as a doctor who will be taking care of you. This website is also here to help you with some commonly asked questions and answers about medical problems seen in our emergency department. Feel free to search this site and the site of my other colleagues.

Ever since my first science class in elementary school, I found my favorite subject. As my interest evolved, the more it piqued my curiosity. I remember asking my high school advanced placement biology teacher Dr. Hill what I could do if I selected a biological science major in college? He said "Think about medicine." The rest is history.

Being an emergency physician affords me the opportunity to take care of a variety of patients 24 hours a days, 365 days a year: from ones with cuts to major trauma, babies to adults, men and women. Many times, in the emergency room (ER), I may see a patient who never had any medical care. This is a unique opportunity for me to intervene and potentially catch a serious illness’s that may have gone unnoticed. In the ER, it is essential to build a rapport with all my patients in a short amount of time. Not an easy task but I do enjoy it. If a patient can't feel comfortable telling me what is concerning them, I can't provide the best care. Thus, I make it my mission to create an open, comfortable and safe environment for my patients.

My professional interests include medical education, evolution of emergency care and technology, medical legal medicine, clinical toxicology and I just found a new interest in International Emergency Medicine.

During my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking and naturally eating new foods, cars, singing, and sports.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
