My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an anesthesiologist. This means that I anesthetize or "put patients to sleep" for surgical procedures. Anesthesia is the integration of several key medical specialties such as internal medicine and critical care. In addition, being an anesthesiologist is an opportunity to provide care at an anxiety provoking time in patients’ lives, the need for an operation.

My Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy has two main components which are patient education about medical issues and providing safety and comfort to patients during surgical procedures.

My Credentials

Medical school Ohio State University College of Medicine, Columbus, OH
Internship UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Board certification Anesthesiology, Am Osteo Board of Anesthesiology

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

Being a part of the Kaiser Health team is a rewarding experience since the Kaiser Permanente group not only provides comprehensive health care but also is active in the community with health education.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I enjoy practicing medicine at Kaiser Permanente due to the large number of colleagues available for information in multiple medical specialties.

My Professional Interests and Affiliations

  • Member of American Society of Anesthesiologists
  • member of California Society of Anesthesiologists

On a Personal Note…

I began working for Kaiser immediately after residency training. At the time, my husband, Glenn Tse, was accepting a position to be a general surgeon at Kaiser Permanente. We decided that living in the foothills would be a great place to practice medicine and raise our family.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
