Hello and Welcome! I thank you for visiting my home page.

My Credentials

I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology at the University of California, Davis and my Doctorate of Optometry Degree at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. I then returned home to the Central Valley of beautiful California where I was born and raised.

My Practice Philosophy

I am a strong believer of preventive health. I believe that Optometry is a primary care health profession. A patient, who believes to be otherwise healthy, may discover at a visit with an optometrist that he or she may have an underlying systemic medical condition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, lung cancer and even brain tumors, to say the least. It is then our duty, as an optometrist, to refer our patients to the proper medical specialist.

I believe in education, so I always strive to educate my patients regarding eye health and disease. I also want to get to know my patients with a personal and caring touch. I look forward to seeing my patients year after year.

Why did I choose Optometry?

I always wanted to be in the health field, so I decided while I was in college to investigate the different health fields. I looked into dentistry, veterinary, medicine and medical research before I discovered Optometry. It was about the same time I was studying the eye in my Anatomy/Physiology class, when I myself, became nearsighted. I was so intrigued with my first pair of glasses that I wanted to learn more about Optics. Throughout the rest of my college years, I worked part-time in an Optical Lab making glasses. I also worked part-time with an optometrist and ultimately knew Optometry was for me!

Why do I Like Practicing Optometry At Kaiser Permanente?

Kaiser Permanente is a wonderful place to work when your own practice philosophy is preventive health. It is great to work alongside your own colleagues. It gives us the opportunity to work close together as a team. We are always striving to learn and to better our patient care. Having great access to our patients’ medical record by computer is AWESOME! More knowledge of our patient’s health helps us to make better decisions with co-managing and referrals.

On A Person Note

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters. Our family is very athletic. I enjoy playing basketball, softball and dirt-bike riding. More so, I love to watch and help coach my daughters with their sporting activities.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

Select a personal physician - An important part of your health care experience at Kaiser Permanente includes building a relationship with your personal physician.
