Welcome to my Home Page!

Thank you for taking a moment to let me introduce myself. I am a native California, born and raised in San Diego. During my schooling, I had the opportunity to live in many places, namely, Los Angeles for college(UCLA), New Orleans for medical school, and Boston and Los Angeles (again) for residency training. Although I enjoyed the other locales, I am thrilled to be back in California and working for Kaiser Permanente.

I am engaged to be married and love spending my time with my fiance, my family and friends, and my Bernese mountain dog MacArthur. My hobbies include traveling, running, tennis, skiing, and reading.

I chose emergency medicine as my specailty because I enjoyed the diversity of the field, making quick decisions, and the variety of the ages of patients it allows me to treat and interact with. I came to Kaiser Permanente from a solitary community hospital practice and I am very happy to be part of the Permanente team. It is great to provide patient care as a member of a collective effort with all of the specialty services easily accessible. I also appreciate the huge database that is available so I can learn my patient’s histories. This system allows me to meet my practice goals for providing efficient, highly personalized patient care. Beginning with an emergency visit, I am easily able to meet my patients needs whether they are admitted to the hospital or need special follow-up care.

Please note the Kaiser Permanente Member Resources links to the left. They contain important information regarding patient care and the Healthwise Handbook can help you learn more about basic health problems.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
