My Biography

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1990, where I’ve been instrumental in innovating and introducing new mind body programs. I truly value the opportunity I have to effect a positive change in the quality of people’s lives. I enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente, a leader in high quality care, preventive medicine and health education. Kaiser Permanente’s centralized, integrated model is a clear benefit for members and the organization features committed, diverse, talented and dedicated staff.

Currently I direct the Mind-Body-Spirit Programs at Kaiser Permanente, San Francisco. For the past 20 years, I’ve specialized in helping people transform their lives through my work as a health educator, mindfulness-based stress reduction and mindful eating instructor, stress management coach and registered dietitian.

My clients have included individuals, health professionals, corporations, medical centers, and schools. I’ve trained Health Professionals at Kaiser Permanente in the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mind Body Medicine and Pain Management Programs. I currently co-facilitate and teach Mindfulness Based Eating Awareness Trainings for health professionals and the general public around the country. I’m a contributing author to The Relaxation & Stress Reduction Workbook (3rd edition) and Some Leaders are Born Women.

For my own mind body health I practice meditation and yoga, hike and dance regularly. I’m working on a novel, I love outdoor activities and musical events. I enjoy spending quality time with my family. I look forward to working with you in our clinic and introducing you to the rich spectrum of resources we have to offer.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
