My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an audiologist and work with a team of Head and Neck Surgeons (HNS) as well as the Cranio Facial Panel. I perform hearing evaluations on all ages from week old infants to those in the geriatric population. With the evaluation results, and based on your needs, I am able to provide appropriate counseling and recommendations about hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness, communication difficulties, and hearing conservation. I became an audiologist because of my own personal experience with hearing loss, hearing aids, and ear surgery. Because of my background I can sincerely say, "I understand", and my personal experience provides valuable assistance and guidance to you.

My Qualifications

Doctorate Audiology University of Florida
Master of Science Audiology San Francisco State University
Bachelor of Science Communication Disorders San Francisco State University

My Practice Philosophy

I believe that managing hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness, and hearing conservation can enrich your quality of life. Early diagnosis and intervention, with proper fitting of hearing aids, along with communication and listening strategies can reduce anxiety and stress on communication and listening difficulties and make your adjustment period easier. Audiology technology has come a long way, from an expanded battery of tests to diagnostic/screening equipment to state of the art digital hearing aids.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 1999 and thoroughly enjoy working with my colleagues in Audiology, HNS, and the Cranio Facial Panel. Because of Kaiser Permanente, I have the opportunity to continue to broaden my knowledge in my field by attending seminars to stay up to date with new techniques and technologies.

On a Personal Note

If you spoke with me, you would have never known I was born with a hearing loss that required hearing aids through my senior year in high school. I was in school band and flute competitions, choir, as well as dancing. Even now, I continue to be in a choir, play the flute, and ballroom dance. I enjoy theatre arts and indoor/outdoor sports. I have also accomplished a 100 mile bike ride around Lake Tahoe supporting Leukemia and Lymphoma Society back in 2004.
