Hello and Welcome to my Home Page!

I was raised in a Chicago suburb, before moving to the Bay Area as a teenager. My parents are both software engineers, but I decided to pursue medicine after seeing profound illness in India during my frequent visits. I attended Northwestern University for both my undergraduate and medical education. Residency training brought me back to California at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. My fellowship training in Nephrology at Stanford University prepared me to take care of patients with renal diseases.

I joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group because I wanted to work in a group setting with physicians dedicated to promoting healthy living and to providing excellent care to their patients. As a nephrologist, I see patients in the hospital as well as the outpatient clinics. I enjoy working with the wonderful nurses and medical assistants at the Redwood City facility.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my three young children, my dog, and my husband. We enjoy the sunny warm weather here, often going to the park. I also like knitting, swimming, and hiking.

Treating kidney diseases can be both rewarding and challenging. Patients facing dialysis have many questions and concerns. I believe it is important to listen to patients and tailor care for each individual, understanding the psychosocial factors that affect a person’s health. I want my patients to know that I am here to help.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
