Hello and welcome to my home page. In addition to providing some background about me, I hope that this page will serve as a useful source of information for you. Links to the left of the page will direct you to some of the materials that have been developed for our members here at Kaiser Permanente. I have also included links to various sites that have been helpful to my patients in the past.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in Pediatric Neuropsychology. Pediatric Neuropsychology is the study of brain functioning and its effects on cognition, behavior, and emotions in children and adolescents. I first became interested in working with children, adolescents, and families when I worked at the local YMCA during my high school years. I developed a subsequent interest in studying brain-behavior relationships during my graduate school training. Since then, I have integrated both of these interests by working with children and adolescents and evaluating brain-behavior relationships in the pediatric population. I pursued specialized training in this field during my pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship years.

I was born in New York and raised in the Bay Area California. I first joined Kaiser Permanente as a Neuropsychology post-doctoral fellow at Kaiser Permanente Oakland, in the Departments of Behavioral Medicine and Child and Family Psychiatry. In 2002, I joined the Child and Family Psychiatry Service at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City. I feel fortunate to work with a very talented group of child and adolescent psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, marriage family therapists, and psychology trainees. As a team, we share strong collaborative working relationships. These relationships help us to develop effective and cohesive treatment plans with the families that we work with.

I truly enjoy working with children, adolescents, and their families. My practice philosophy includes a strong belief in building trust with my clients and in helping family members develop more effective communication patterns with one another.

I am a professional member of the American Psychological Association, the National Academy of Neuropsychology, and the Northern California Neuropsychological Foundation.

My personal interests include spending time with my husband, day hiking, reading, and playing with my pets, Mickey and Maxwell.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
