Welcome

My practice philosophy as a Pathologist is to give the best service possible to the clinicians who take care of our patients. As Pathologists, our prime communication is with Physicians who are our "clients". To give timely, and accurate results incorporating latest advances in literature is my goal as a physician. To be a "doctors doctor" that is what a Pathologist does - help the surgeons and internists manage their patients by giving the final word on patient diseases

I currently am the only person in the Northern California region of Kaiser Permanente to have a formal fellowship in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology. I have been closely involved in working with Gastroentrologists and Hepatologists over the past three years. To this effect in addition to being a member of several pathology societies I have also been awarded memberships of the American Gastroentological Association and the American Association for Study of Liver Diseases. I am also being considered for membership of the American College of Gasterontology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. My Pathology affiliations include membership of the College of American Pathologists, Gastointestinal Pathology Society, American Society for Clinical Pathology, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and the American Pathology Foundation. I am also involved in Health Policy issues and in 2005 was the recepient of the American Medical Association "Excellence in Medicine" national Leadership Award.

I was raised in Northern India in the beautiful city of Chandigarh. I am married to a very devoted homemaker Amrit whose support has let me acheive so much in a very short span of time. I have two beautiful children who are the main focus of my life, my son Samit and my daughter Malika. I like cooking at home and spending time with my children and reading about health policy and modern healthcare issues. I speak Hindi and Punjabi.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
