Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my personal webpage. I am a Hospital Based Specialist (Hospitalist) and Board Certified in Internal Medicine. My personal goal is to give you the best care possible in the hospital. My practice is entirely focused on the hospitalized patient. My role is to do medical consultations, mostly for the emergency room physicians (and other specialties) on patients requiring acute medical attention. If the patient requires hospitalization, then I will admit and manage the acute medical problems in the hospital wards including the critical care units.

I was raised in Fremont, California. I have a Bachelor's and Master's of Science degrees from U. C. Berkeley and San Francisco State University in Microbiology/Immunology and Clinical Sciences (Immunology), respectively. For my Master's Thesis, I conducted research on the Human T-Cell Leukemia Virus at the Stanford University Medical School Blood Center. I decided to attend the University of Saint George's School Of Medicine in Grenada, WI. I was there for two years of my basic medical sciences and then finished my clinical rotations, mostly at New York Methodist Hospital (affiliated with Cornell University Medical Center). I continued on and finished my internship and residency at New York Methodist hospital in Internal Medicine.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in July, 2002 and currently serve as the Co-Assitant Chief Of Hospital Utilization for the Hospital Medicine Department, Quality Liason for the department. Furthermore, I am actively involved in clinical teaching at the hospital, having served as a preceptor to final year Physician Assistant students from Samuel Merrit College, Oakland and currently undergraduates from the U. C. Berkeley Health and Medical Apprenticeship Programs.

I am married and have two boys. I am a serious musician/composer/writer and actively pursuing recording/performing western/indian pop-fusion music. I am a member of the American College of Physicians. In addition to English, I speak fluent Hindi (north Indian language) & some Spanish.

My Credentials

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
