Welcome to My Home Page

As your physician, I value my relationship with you and I know that maintaining a good relationship means being able to communicate with each other. My colleagues and I have developed web sites so that we can stay in touch more easily. Because the better connected we are, the healthier you are.

My Background

I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee with a nurturing and supportive family. (Thanks mom and dad :). I first visited California when I attended Stanford University majoring in the biological sciences. After completing my bachelor's degree, I returned to Tennessee where I went to medical school and completed my neurosurgical residency training at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.

My wife and I met in college and both love northern California. We were both excited to get the opportunity to join Kaiser Permanente in 2005. The practice seemed particularly attractive since it is an integrated medical system composed of dedicated and exceptional colleagues. At Kaiser Permanente we have the opportunity to focus on all aspects of patient care. In the neurosurgery department, we see and manage the full range of neurosurgical diseases with excellence and I am proud to be a member of this team.

Neurosurgery is often a challenging and difficult field. The diagnoses can be life altering for our patients and families. I am committed to providing support with information and technical expertise as we travel down these roads together.

Our Staff

We have an excellent support staff in the neurosurgery department. They play an integral role in the management of our patients. One of the many advantages of working at Kaiser Permanente is the diversity of my colleagues who have various backgrounds and interests. This range of experiences serves to improve our patient care.

On a Personal Note. . .

I am presently married with 2 mischievous children and a constantly shedding dog. I enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that Sacramento offers. I also enjoy playing classical guitar, Indian classical percussion, and getting schooled by my children on the Wii.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
