My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife. I care for low risk women during their pregnancies, labor, and post partum. I have wanted to be a Nurse Midwife since I was a very little girl and after 11 years of being a Nurse Midwife I still love my career choice.

My Practice Philosophy

Nurse Midwives can practice in a variety of settings, i.e. home birth, birthing center, or hospital. In my setting, I want to provide a woman a truly unique experience and let her guide her care as much as possible. I try to accommodate a family's wishes as much as possible while maintaining a safe and comforting environment for mother and baby. Listening to patients and educating them about their bodies during pregnancy are two cornerstones of my practice.

My Credentials

Family Nurse PractitionerUniversity of California – San Diego1997
Masters, Nursing (Nurse Midwifery Specialty)University of California – San Francisco 1996
Bachelors, Nursing University of Rhode Island 1990

My Personal Life

I am married and have 3 young children. In my spare time my family and I camp with our 5th wheel all over California seeing the great things it has to offer.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I've been with Kaiser Permanente since 1996 both in Southern and Northern California. As both a patient of Kaiser and a provider, Kaiser has offered me the opportunity to experience the best clinical care a medical group could provide.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
