My Work Hours

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday Rancho Cordova - 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Tuesday Folsom - 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an optometrist. An optometrist diagnoses vision problems and eye disease, prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses, and prescribes drugs to treat eye disorders.

My Credentials

My undergraduate studies were completed at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a teaching credential. After four years of teaching mathematics and science, I returned to college. At the University of California, Berkeley, I earned a bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Optics and a Doctor of Optometry degree.

My Healthcare Practice

I am a TPA certified optometrist. I am fortunate to work with a great team of optometrists and ophthalmologists in Rancho Cordova and Folsom. Kaiser Permanente patients in the greater Sacramento area have access to some of the finest eye care professionals in Northern California.

Having worn eyeglasses since childhood, I know the importance of having good vision and the role it plays in one’s quality of life. I will work with you to ensure you have the proper glasses or contact lenses for your visual needs. If you have a hobby or special visual needs, please let me know. We can work together to provide you with the appropriate eyewear prescription.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

The greatest advantage of working within Kaiser Permanente is the resources we have to offer. If we discover any ocular pathology (i.e. macular degeneration, cataract or glaucoma to name a few) during the course of your examination, we have an excellent team of general and sub-specialist ophthalmologist to evaluate and care for you. Here at Kaiser Permanente we have the latest technology to help you preserve quality vision throughout your life.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2002.

On a Personal Note…

Being a native California, I was born in the Salinas Valley. Agriculture has been a major part of my life. We still maintain a family-owned farm near Salinas. In 1974, I moved to the Central Valley and have been a resident ever since.

I enjoy cooking, good food (being Italian – imagine that!) and traveling. Sightseeing, camping and photography are a few of my hobbies. I especially enjoy traveling to Switzerland and Italy to visit the dozens of family members that live there.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
