I grew up in Ontario, Canada, where I attended the University of Western Ontario and then medical school at the University of Toronto. I completed my residency training in internal medicine here at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco, and I served as Chief Resident for a year after graduating. I am board certified in internal medicine in both the U.S. and Canada.
I very much enjoy my job as a hospitalist: I like the challenge of dealing with complex medical problems, and I feel privileged to care for people during difficult times. Working in this hospital provides a great variety of clinical duties as well as the opportunity to teach resident doctors in training.
As your physician, I will work hard to make you feel safe, comfortable, and well-informed during your hospital admission. I truly believe that as a patient, you are the most important member of your health care team!
When I am not working, I enjoy good books, good food, sailing, running, and travel. My husband and I are proud dog-parents of a yellow lab named Lola who came originally from Mexico.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
