Hello and Welcome! I thank you for visiting my home page.
My Credentials
I attended University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry, I lived there for another three years and worked as an environmental chemist and then as a pharmaceutical chemist. I always wanted to work in the health profession, so I went to Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, to become an optometrist.
My Practice Philosophy
I strongly believe in seeing the best that you can for as long as you live. The eyes are so important; they let us see the world. Therefore, a pair of sunglasses and a hat when we go outside can go a long way in preventing cataracts early in life. A good healthy diet with fruits and vegetables can help keep our retina healthy. Routine checkups with an eye doctor will help preserve our vision.
Why did I choose optometry?
I love my profession and I am so glad that I chose this field of healthcare. The eyes are so interesting and I can help people see better through my work.
Why do I like Practicing Optometry at Kaiser Permanente?
I like to work at Kaiser Permanente because it is the one stop for healthcare, a multi specialty setting. At Kaiser Permanente, I can focus on giving the best possible eye care I can to my patients. I have the freedom to do my work with advance technology at hand and I don’t have to worry about the business aspects of optometry as if I were to have my own practice.
On a Personal Note
Escaping from Vietnam at ten years old, I feel very blessed to have come to America. Growing up on a ranch in Texas was fun and exciting. From my bedroom window, I could see miles of green grass pasture land and eat all the pecans I wanted. My family later moved to Stockton, California.
When I am home, I enjoy playing with my two young sons, teaching them Hooked on Phonics, practicing my piano, listening to my husband plays his guitar or singing Karaoke. I like to go out with my family and read books when I have the time.
Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.
