My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a radiologist. A radiologist interprets imaging studies including plain films, mammograms, CT’s, MRI’s, and fluoroscopy. We are often behind the scene and interact with clinicians in patient care. We also have direct patient contact especially in fluoroscopy and mammography. I chose this field because I am able to interact with almost every medical specialty and play an integral part in patient management. I am a very visual person and love the technology associated with this field.

My Practice Philosophy

Even though radiologists do not have as much patient direct care as other medical specialties, when interacting with patients, I remember that each individual has his/her needs and concerns. When interpreting studies, I try to be meticulous with every case even when busy, because I know there is a person behind each study and how a life may be affected.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

Since joining Kaiser Permanente in 2007, I have come to appreciate how integrated Kaiser Permanente medical care truly is and am fortunate to be a part of this system. This system has a great support staff and I have the resources to pursue any interest I may have.

On a Personal Note

My educational background includes an undergraduate degree at the University of California Davis. I attended medicine school at the Medical College of Virginia (now known at the Virginia Commonwealth University). I continued my residency in the same facility and did my fellowship at the University of California, Davis. From there, I joined Kaiser Permanente.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
