I am a board certified Genetic Counselor. Genetic counselors are health professionals with specialized graduate degrees and experience in the areas of medical genetics and counseling. Genetic counselors identify families at risk for birth defects or genetic disease, investigate the problem present in the family, interpret information about the disorder, and analyze inheritance patterns and risks of recurrence and review available options with the family. Genetic counselors also provide supportive counseling to families, serve as patient advocates and refer individuals and families to community or state support services.
My Biography
I was born and raised in central New Jersey. After receiving my BS in Biology from Boston College in 1998, I worked at Planned Parenthood in Boston, MA. In 2001, I graduated from Beaver College (now Arcadia University) with an MS in Genetic Counseling. I am a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors.
New to the Bay area in 2001, I was very excited to join Kaiser Permanente’s Genetics team at San Jose Medical Center. I enjoy working with prenatal, pediatric, and adult patients.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, reading, dancing, and playing with my dog.
I want to make sure that you have a positive experience with the Genetics team. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me directly at 408-972-3307. I am generally in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 8:30am-5pm.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
