About Me

Welcome to my homepage! I joined the Psychiatry Department at Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco in 2006, first as a bariatric surgery specialist and now as part of the adult psychiatry staff. Before coming to the South City facility, I completed a pre-doctoral internship at Kaiser in Los Angeles and a postdoctoral residency at Kaiser San Rafael.

We have many excellent resources to address your mental health needs. Within Psychiatry, we offer brief individual therapy and group therapy and psychiatrists and nurse practitioners are available for medication management. There are also many mental health classes offered through Kaiser's Health Education Department and you can find information on a variety of topics at www.kp.org.

As a psychologist, I believe maintaining balance in your life is the foundation for healthy living and I take a collaborative approach in working with clients. Your active participation is essential to feeling better. The more open you are to suggestions and the more willing you are to practice them in your everyday life, the more quickly you will feel better. I work with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I also facilitate a group for individuals who are having problems in their romantic relationships and a general support group for adults dealing with depression, life stress, or other current issues.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
