About Me

I was born and raised in Stockton, CA. I received my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Speech Language Pathology from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA. I knew that I wanted to enter the field of medical speech-language pathology prior to entering graduate school because of the complexity and interest that it presented to me. My student externship at San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp gave me a broad exposure to the field of speech-language pathology. I went on to complete my clinical fellowship year at Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto with many fond memories.

I decided to pursue the field of speech-language pathology shortly before I was planning to transfer to the University of the Pacific. My goal was to earn a degree in accounting, but I did not feel that this career choice was for me. I met a person who was pursuing a degree in communication disorders and loved to hear her stories about the classes that she was taking and working in the clinic and school setting. With only one semester left, I quickly changed my major and I have not regretted making that decision. I enjoy working with the pediatric and adult population especially in the areas of pediatric feeding / swallowing disorders, voice disorders, and traumatic brain injury.

I chose to work for Kaiser Permanente because of their outstanding philosophy of care, caring and knowledgeable physicians and team based approach towards medicine. In addition, my skills and knowledge as a speech-language pathologist continues to grow with the variety of diagnosis and disorders that I treat.

I have decided to remain here in the Central Valley for family reasons. I have numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles who live here in the area. I especially love spending time with my grandmother.

When I am not working, I enjoy cooking, knitting, crocheting, and other activities.

My Philosophy of Care

I strive to treat my patients as my own family members. I strongly believe that as a speech-language pathologist, we are patients' and their family members' biggest advocate especially when their communication skills have been impaired.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. If you would like to schedule an appointment or have questions or concerns about your care in our department, please feel free to call at (209) 735-7040.
