Welcome to my home page
About me
I completed my residency training in orthopedic surgery at State University of New York in Brooklyn in 2003, and have recently finished a fellowship in adult reconstruction in Tampa, Florida. I am very happy to be back in California.
I am of Indian descent, but have grown up in North America. I can understand Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, and can get by pretty well in Punjabi. Growing up in a large Punjabi community in central California, I stayed connected to my roots through music, playing the tabla drums.
I have wanted to become a physician since I was very young. I have always enjoyed the biological sciences, and in fact, I majored in cell biology at the University of California, San Diego. I was drawn to orthopedics in medical school (St. Louis University) as I thoroughly enjoyed managing musculoskeletal problems surgically. I also enjoy seeing the results of mobilizing patients who have suffered from acute or degenerative conditions.
I enjoy managing a wide array of orthopedic problems, including general orthopedics, trauma surgery, sports medicine, and total joint surgery. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente family. I believe the Kaiser Permanente philosophy allows all members of the treatment process (patients, physicians, nurses, therapists, operating romo staff)to thrive.
On my time off, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a wonderful wife, who is an exercise physiologist. We have a young son and daughter. We enjoy traveling, running, biking, watching movies, and spending time with our extended families.
I hope you have enjoyed my brief introduction. I look forward to meeting you.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
