Welcome to My Internet Home Page

I am very proud to be a physician with Kaiser Permanente in the Central Valley. As Assistant Chief of Staff for Manteca and Modesto hospitals, it is my privilege to support our physicians and nurses on a journey to provide World Class Hospital Care.

About Me

I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. I met my wife, Chris, during training. My personal interests include working outdoors, gardening, backpacking, classical music and martial arts. I also enjoy riding motorcycle with my Primary Care Provider and friend, Dr. Brian Dolnick.

My daughter, Lauren, has graduated from college and is working and going to graduate school to become a Speech Therapist. My son, Johnathan, is currently a Chemistry major / Music minor at U.C. Davis. He was an Eagle Scout and my wife and I enjoyed all the wilderness adventures with him.

My wife, Chris, and I live in the country and have horses, chickens, a lamb, a dog and cats, in addition to a variety of other critters. I believe the old saying “strong body, strong mind,” and faithfully awake every morning at 4:30 a.m. for a 90+ minutes walk with my wife and dog.

I am fluent in Spanish and enjoy volunteer work.

My Philosophy of Care

Our goal is to provide the best quality care and to foster a service culture that embraces the idea of treating everyone not only with respect and dignity, but as we all desire our own family to be cared for.

My clinical practices are Chief of the Emergency Department and Chief of Hospital-Based Specialists. I also find supporting Palliative Care and Comfort Care to families during difficult hospital stays to be rewarding.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

Select a personal physician - An important part of your health care experience at Kaiser Permanente includes building a relationship with your personal physician. If you haven't already selected one or want to change, click here to choose a personal physician for yourself or for a family member.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
