My Biography

Although I came to San Francisco for my college education, I remained because of all the positive attributes the Bay Area presents. San Francisco is a small enough city but still offers tremendous diversity, lots of activities, and it’s close to natural gateways.

I got to see Kaiser in action when I moonlit here as a resident. I liked the people in the department and the patient population. I was impressed at the good follow-up patients received. My colleagues are fun to work with and we make a solid team. We frequently confer with one another.

Within Kaiser Permanente’s integrated model, all practitioners are essentially part of the same team. This is a stellar benefit for the patient, as it is easy for me to track follow-ups and get questions answered. Patients enjoy incredible access to medical care. If you really need to see a doctor, you can. We love our departmental chief, and she sets a really good tone for the Emergency Department.

My special interest areas are disaster medicine and international medicine. I am currently part of the Bay Area Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT). I also worked in an African refugee camp for International Rescue Committee.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing with Zeppelin, my puppy, and spending time with my partner, who works here in the Head and Neck Surgery Department. I like hiking, recreational cycling, and traveling. I most recently visited Spain, and I am off to New Zealand next. I help myself to thrive by getting a lot of sleep, walking my puppy, and helping myself to chocolate! I also laugh and smile a lot!
