Dr. Santoro joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2003. Prior to this, he completed his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California in Los Angeles. He also completed a fellowship in Microvascular Surgery at UCLA. During that time, he obtained a comprehensive education, instructed by numerous nationally recognized plastic surgeons, and received specialized training in complex reconstructive microsurgical techniques used to treat patients with certain wounds resulting from trauma and cancer.

Dr. Santoro has actively participated in many research projects, the results of which have been published in several national plastic surgery journals and presented at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons national meetings.

Dr. Santoro received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. He then obtained his residency training in general surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he was recognized for clinical excellence. He attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry with honors, and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Dr. Santoro has many clinical interests within the field of plastic surgery. His practice includes general plastic and reconstructive surgery, microvascular and hand surgery, and cosmetic surgery. He is particularly interested in breast reconstruction and optimizing the medical experience for those patients suffering from breast cancer.

Dr. Santoro currently resides in San Jose with his wife and family. His non-clinical interest include music, outdoor recreation, classic automobiles, and literature.
