Biography:

Nurse Practitioner Gettinger is a native Californian who grew up in the bay area. In 1986, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of San Francisco. In 1995, she earned a Masters of Science degree in Nursing and a Nurse Practitioner certificate from San Francisco State University.

Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, Nurse Practitioner Gettinger worked as a Registered Nurse in the Kaiser Santa Clara Emergency Department from 1986 through 1995. Her experience in the fast-paced environment of unpredictable patient volume and acuity has provided a strong foundation upon which her skills are built.

After completion of her graduate studies in 1995, Nurse Practitioner Gettinger joined the Kaiser Santa Clara Internal Medicine department. Through her experience in primary care, she developed a special interest in acute and chronic skin conditions. In 1997, she joined the Santa Clara Dermatology department while continuing her work in primary care.

In October 2000, Nurse Practitioner Gettinger joined the staff at Kaiser Mountain View to specialize in Dermatology. She works with Dr. Shpall and seeks his opinion when necessary.

In her spare time, Nurse Practitioner Gettinger enjoys investing, gardening, walking her dog, Trevor and spending time with her niece and nephews.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
