My Practice Philosophy

I believe that each patient should be treated as an individual, and should be given as much information as possible to enable them to make informed decisions. I believe that children should be involved in the decision making process once they are old enough to understand choices.

About Me

I was raised in Mountain View and Sunnyvale, California. I attended San Jose State University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1982. From there, I went on to the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) to earn my Masters Degree in nursing in 1989. I finished my residency at Kaiser Sunnyvale and San Francisco General Hospital. I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 1989. I am currently board certified by the National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses. I am a Fellow of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners (NAPNAP), a member of the California Nurses Association and the Dermatology Nurses Association.

My Interests

I am married with one child and have a German shepherd. I enjoy gardening, reading, scrapbooking and trying new craft projects.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
