My name is Dr. Sharad Arora and I am your primary provider. I am currently the Team Lead for Medicine D and am fluent in Hindi. My medical assistant, who is fluent in Spanish, is Angie Lomeli. For your convenience, on the day of your appointment, you can find us both in Medicine D at the Stockton Facility.
ABOUT THE ADULT PRIMARY CARE MEDICINE TEAM
I am privileged to work with a highly skilled group of health care professionals, all of whom are located together on my unit. Depending on your needs, I call upon my colleagues to assist and advise me on delivering to you the best medical care possible.
Besides other physicians and registered nurse practioners, my team members include registered nurses who provide care for minor illnesses such as bronchitis, sore throats, ear and eye infections, bladder infections and flu symptoms. I also work with a physical therapist who can help with muscle and bone problems, as well as a clinical health educator who will provide you with direct health education, information and counseling for conditions such as weight management, exercise, diet, diabetes care, and smoking cessation. A behavior specialist is also available to help with stress, anxiety, and depression.
Helen Lozano, RN and Helen Gapasin, RN are two of our wonderful registered nurses you may encounter during your visit to Medicine D.
My Philosophy of Care
My philosophy of care is to treat my patients as if they were adult members of my own family. I am also a firm believer in patient empowerment. As I would expect from members of my family, you should be involved in your own care. I will do my best to provide the information, expert opinion, and guidance necessary to help you thrive. In my pursuit of this goal, I am the Chief of Patient Education at our facility as well.
My Biography
As way of introduction, I grew up in the Bay Area before leaving initially to San Diego for a Biomedical Engineering degree at University of California, San Diego. It was then followed by medical school at the University of St. George's School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies. I completed my Internal Medicine Residency at Albany Medical Center in New York before deciding to return to California, joining Kaiser Permanente in October 2000. I now enjoy living among and helping my neighbors in the central valley. I spend my spare time with friends and family as well as working on computers and exercising.
