Hi, welcome. Thank you for visiting my home page. Here is my chance to let you know a little bit about myself and to answer some questions that you might have.

My specialty

I specialize in Internal Medicine. I generally can see patients as young as 18 to as old as 100.

My duties include taking care of patients in the Medicine clinic, rounding in the hospital on admitted patients, working in the Afterhours Appointed Care Clinic, and admitting patients to the hospital from the emergency room. I like to get involved in all aspects of my specialty. This makes me a well-rounded physician and better able to address all of your needs.

My Office Hours

Please see above for information.

How to Contact me

You can always send me a message through the call center at the phone number listed above, or through email by the "Email your doctor" link above. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Remember, I do not have walk-up appointments. I have a full and busy schedule everyday, and am committed to making sure that each of my patients gets my full attention at their scheduled visit.

My medical assistant's name is Regina. She is extremely efficient and always willing to help. In general, when you send me a message through the call center, she will be the one to get back to you. She might ask you for more information about your message, or she might have some instructions for you. She has been working with me for nine years now, so she knows me well, and will ask you what she believes I would need to know to help you. Keep in mind that when she does give you instructions, and or advice, that it is coming from me directly so rest assured. We make a great team.

How to get an Appointment

You can request an appointment by calling the call center. I am here everyday, so I should be able to accommodate you, depending on the severity of your problem. On the days that I am out of the office, one of my colleagues might be able to see you. However, please keep in mind that I do not have walk-up appointments; and unfortunately will not be able to see you if you come without an appointment.

My Philosophy on Health

Even though the way our body works is very complicated, it takes a simple approach to maintain its health. This approach consists of regular exercise, choosing and consuming healthy foods, getting plenty of rest to recharge, and maintaining a well-balanced mind. We all have busy lives, but we do need to take a small amount of time to slow down and take care of our health. As you can see from this picture, compared to my new picture above, even I had to make healthy choices to achieve a healthier body. If I can do it, so can you! In addition to being an Internist, I am also the Co-Medical Director of our new Medical Weight Management weight loss program in the Elk Grove and South Sacramento Kaiser Permanente facilities. This program is designed to help patients with a BMI of 30 or higher to learn long-term strategies in becoming a healthier person.

Outside Interests

Although medicine is my true passion, I do love watching basketball as well as football on TV. I love to surf the internet and gain a wealth of knowledge about a range of topics. I love telling and being told jokes, and believe it or not, I also love to play video games for all of you video game buffs out there ;)

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
