My Biography:

I have practiced Internal Medicine at Kaiser Permanente, Milpitas since 1991. My training comprised of Medical School at Government Medical College, Patiala, India, where I was honored as "Best Graduate".

The internship year was at Nassau County Medical Center, New York, and I finished my residency at Kaiser Santa Clara and from 1999 – 2004, I served as Chief of Quality for the Department of Medicine and as Assistant Physician-in-charge for the Milpitas facility. I am currently the Physician-in-charge for Milpitas. Because of my administrative responsibilities, I am not always available in clinic.

Growing up in Patiala, India, I watched my father practice medicine with caring and joy, and he has continued to be a source of great inspiration for me. Apart from my life as a physician, I treasure the time spent with my family. Gardening is one of my joys, and I also enjoy the movies.

A few tips to get the most out of your appointment and care:

1. Please know the medications you are taking. If you cannot remember them, please write them down and bring them to your appointment. It is very important to review these.

2. Please do ask me to clarify if your understanding of our treatment plan or your condition is not clear.

3. Your health requires your active participation. Please review the "Preventive Health Prompt" on your registration slip and ask me if you are due for any preventive care.

4. I usually send test results by mail or call you personally to discuss them. If you have not heard from me within a reasonable period of time, please do call and check with me.

5. Do try to eat healthy and get regular exercise!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
