My Biography
I have spent my entire career as a Kaiser physician, because our system allows me to focus on what I most enjoy, caring for my patients. The Kaiser Dermatology Department sees patients of all ages, from infants to over 100, with a range of interesting issues, and I'm very proud of our staff and the care that we provide.
In addition to my patient care responsibilities at Kaiser, I teach regularly at the University of California, San Francisco, where I am Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology. I really enjoy teaching and mentoring the dermatology residents. Exciting new things are happening in our field, and I attend several national and international dermatology meetings a year to stay up to date on new information. I am member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the San Francisco Medical Society, the San Francisco Dematologic Society, the Women's Dermatological Society and of the Leaders' Society of the Dermatology Foundation, which supports research in our field designed to better understand the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of skin diseases.
I'm not originally from the Bay Area and came to the University of California, San Francisco, for what I expected would be three years of Dermatology training. But we loved it here and stayed! I am a believer in healthy choices for me and my family, which includes a physician husband and two children who are training to become doctors, and I enjoy working out regularly.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
