Welcome to My Home Page

I have worked with eating disorders in the Bay Area since 1980, primarily seeing adults and working in a private practice setting. Over the years, I have supervised psychology graduate students at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology of John F. Kennedy University where I also taught and helped develop the Continuing Education Department's Eating Disorder Certificate.

After my increasing frustration in the private practice setting with the lack of collaboration with medical and psychiatric providers, I joined the staff at Walnut Creek's Adult Outpatient Eating Disorder Program. I have particularly enjoyed the teamwork at Kaiser Permanente and the ability to coordinate medical and psychological treatment for a population that is so medically at risk.

My Education and Credentials

Undergraduate Education BA, University of California, Berkeley
Graduate Education MS, Counseling, California State University, Hayward
Post Degree Training Psychotherapy Institute of Berkeley, 1978-1980
Licensure Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (MFT17024)

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
